Fire doors and gates in your facility

We install and service fire doors and gates to effectively isolate the area affected by fire from the rest of the building in the event of a fire. We check the operation of closures, automation, cooperation with SSP, and signage to ensure quick evacuation and maximum protection of property.

Limiting the spread of fire and smoke

Properly functioning doors and gates create real fire zones, not just "design zones."

Safer evacuation of people

Closed and smoke-tight partitions keep corridors and escape routes free of smoke for as long as possible.

Protection of property and business continuity

You reduce the scale of damage and downtime after an incident.

Automation connected to SSP

Fire alarm control panels and fire alarm systems control doors and gates exactly when needed.

Fire resistance classes – what does EI 60 mean?

  • E – fire integrity – resistance to cracks, holes, and leaks through which fire could penetrate.
  • I – fire resistance – the time during which heat does not penetrate to the unheated side to an extent that poses a safety hazard. II – fire resistance – the time during which heat does not penetrate to the unheated side to an extent that poses a safety hazard.
  • 60 – the number of minutes during which the partition must meet both of the above criteria in fire conditions.

What do we pay attention to when installing fire doors?

  • We use metal door frames that match the door class.
  • The doors are equipped with an industrial seal and an intumescent seal, which are responsible for smoke tightness and cutting off the flow of hot air.
  • We check that signage is correct, including signs such as "Fire door. Keep closed."
  • We make sure that the clearance between the door leaf and the floor is approx. 6 mm – neither less (risk of rubbing) nor more (loss of tightness).

Fire door and curtain service

We service guillotine gates, sliding gates (single and double leaf) and fire shutters. We check guides, counterweights, drives, and elements preventing the leaf from falling. We check the operation of triggers, fire lock control units, and connection to the fire alarm system. If necessary, we make adjustments and indicate components that require repair or replacement.

Fire door inspections

We check the completeness of door leaves and frames, the condition of coatings, nameplates, and fire resistance class. We test the operation of handles, locks, door closers, and electric strikes, and assess the tightness of the rebates and the clearance between the door leaf and the floor (approx. 6 mm). We make adjustments on site to ensure that the doors close automatically and smoothly without jamming.

How do we cooperate in servicing fire doors and gates?

We conduct inspections on a one-off basis or as part of a continuous service contract. This eliminates the need for you to track deadlines, as we ensure uninterrupted safety and comprehensive documentation.

Audit and inventory of partitions

We compile a list of doors, gates, and fire curtains, specifying their location, fire resistance class, and technical condition. We verify compliance with the design, regulations, and insurer requirements.

01

Inspections, adjustments, and automation

We perform periodic inspections, adjust door closers, replace seals, and test compatibility with SSP and fire alarm control panels. We repair faults on site or plan larger service and repair work.

02

Documentation and Reminders

We prepare inspection reports, update fire safety documentation, and instructions for using doors and gates. With regular service, we send reminders about upcoming inspection dates.

Fire safety zones in practice

Why are efficient fire doors and gates crucial?

Fire doors that are permanently open or malfunctioning mean that there are no fire zones in practice – fire and smoke can spread throughout an entire floor in a matter of minutes. Properly functioning fire closures keep the fire where it started, and corridors and stairwells remain smoke-free during evacuation. Regular inspections and tests of the automation system ensure that the barriers will work not only on paper, but also in real life.

Frequently Asked Questions

According to regulations, fire closures should be inspected and maintained at least once a year, and even more frequently in high-risk facilities (e.g., once every 6 months). In practice, we include the frequency in your facility's fire safety instructions.
No. Fire doors must close automatically in order to seal off the area in the event of a fire. Blocking them with wedges, tape, or furniture is against regulations and may result in legal liability for the owner of the building.
Usually, yes, as long as you use the right paints and do not cover the nameplate and EI class markings. However, too thick a layer of paint or improvised veneers can make it difficult to close and damage the seals, so it is worth consulting before painting.
The number indicates the resistance time in minutes. EI 30 protects for at least 30 minutes, EI 60 for 60 minutes, and EI 120 for up to 2 hours. The higher the class, the greater the requirements for the door/gate construction and installation method.
No. Fire doors must be those that form a barrier between fire zones or have been designated as such in the design and agreements with the fire safety expert. During the audit, we indicate which of the existing doors require an EI rating.
We record, among other things, a list of inspected partitions, their location, EI class, identified defects, and service activities performed. If repairs or replacement of components are required, you will receive clear recommendations with priority and estimated completion dates.
