When are ASD Systems Utilized?
Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) systems are selected where conventional point detectors may not provide sufficient effectiveness or response speed.
- when the Fire Alarm System (FAS) is insufficient;
- when operational downtime results in significant losses;
- when equipment in the monitored area may cause errors in conventional FAS systems (e.g., magnetic resonance);
- when evacuation conditions are challenging — subways, tunnels;
- when discreet system concealment is required in heritage buildings;
- in elevator shafts.
